Belagavi, Aug 11: A dispute over ₹500 escalated into a fatal incident in Yallur village, Belagavi taluk, resulting in the murder of a man.

The victim, Husen Gous Sab Tasewale (45), a resident of Yallur village, was killed following a quarrel. Police have arrested two suspects, Mithun and Manoj, both from the same village.

Husen and the accused were engaged in masonry work. The conflict arose on Saturday night near Husen’s house over the distribution of ₹500 earned from selling scrap materials. During the altercation, the accused allegedly attacked Husen’s private parts, leading to his death, according to City Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase.

A murder case has been registered at the Belagavi Rural Police Station, and the two accused are currently under interrogation for further investigation, the commissioner added.
