Free Bus Passes Announced for Taluka-Level Journalists, Online Applications Invited
Eligible Journalists to Receive Free Travel Facility Within District Limits
The Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Karnataka, has announced that journalists active at the taluka level, who are associated with newspapers or organizations listed in the department’s media directory, will be provided free bus passes to facilitate travel within district limits during their professional activities. Eligible journalists are invited to submit applications online for this purpose.
According to the announcement, interested journalists must attach a service certificate issued by their respective media organization, a recommendation letter, and salary slips for the past 11 months (or proof of commission/honorarium received) or a bank statement showing salary deposits. Applications can be submitted online through the “Seva Sindhu Portal” at
https://sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
It is mandatory to submit a copy of the online application and related documents to the office of the respective District Information Officer.
The department has clarified that the received applications will be reviewed during a selection committee meeting, after which free bus passes will be issued to eligible journalists.
Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Hemant Nimbalkar, has appealed to journalists to promptly submit their applications through the “Seva Sindhu Portal” to avail of this facility.
