Applications Open from October 15 to November 3; Karnataka to Select 73 Inspectors

The Haj Committee of India, under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, has issued a notification (dated October 13, 2025) inviting applications for the appointment of State Haj Inspectors for Haj 2026 (1447 Hijri). According to the committee, State Haj Inspectors play a crucial role in guiding, assisting, and providing welfare services to Indian Haj pilgrims during the pilgrimage. These inspectors will be deployed under the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, representing various states and union territories, to facilitate services for pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.
As per the announcement, the appointment of State Haj Inspectors will be for a two-month period, from April 13, 2026, to July 5, 2026. During this period, they will receive a special stipend of 3,100 Saudi Riyal in addition to their regular salary and allowances from their respective departments. The Government of India will provide accommodation, food, travel facilities, and transportation within the Haramain.
This year, Karnataka is set to select 73 State Haj Inspectors.
Eligibility criteria stipulate that only Muslim government employees under 50 years of age, with at least a graduate degree and a passport valid until December 31, 2026, can apply. Applications can be submitted through the official website of the Haj Committee of India from October 15 to November 3, 2025. The selection process will include a computer-based examination, a personal interview, and a medical fitness test. Candidates must also submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department or an affidavit as an alternative.
Khader Hussain, President of the Mysuru Zone, All India Haj Welfare Society (Karnataka Unit), welcomed the announcement, stating, “State Haj Inspectors play a vital role in facilitating, guiding, and serving Haj pilgrims. This appointment is a rare opportunity for government employees who are dedicated to serving the Muslim community with sincerity.” He further urged eligible Muslim employees from Karnataka to actively apply to ensure capable and service-oriented inspectors can provide better services during Haj.
