Cabinet decides in Thursday meeting Minister H.K. Patil shares details Committees urged to submit reports soon

The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to hold the winter session of the state legislature for 10 days starting December 8 at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi.

Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil said the session will run for a total of 10 days. He added that three Cabinet sub-committees, which have delayed submitting reports for over six months, have been directed to submit them at the earliest.

One committee is related to the report by Justice John Michael D’Cunha on the procurement of medicines and medical equipment during the COVID-19 period, the minister said.

The second committee was formed to examine the financial condition of Karnataka’s universities and make appropriate recommendations. The third committee is tasked with reviewing developments in the Bengaluru-Mysuru Infrastructure Development Corridor and initiating suitable measures for the future.

The first and second committees are headed by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, while the third is led by the Home Minister. The committees have been instructed to submit their reports as soon as possible, though no specific deadline has been set, Patil clarified.
