Bengaluru: Karnataka has emerged as the state with the highest per capita income in India, a feat Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attributes to the guarantee schemes implemented by the Congress government.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister noted that Karnataka’s per capita Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) has reached ₹2,04,605, according to data submitted by the Union Finance Ministry to Parliament. In 2014-15, the state’s per capita income was ₹1,05,697, marking a significant 93.6% increase over the past decade, a milestone the Chief Minister described as noteworthy.

“The credit for this achievement goes to our government’s guarantee schemes. By directly providing ₹4,000–5,000 per month, amounting to ₹60,000–70,000 annually, to every family, we are fostering financial self-reliance. By boosting people’s purchasing power and empowering them economically and socially, we have demonstrated that such measures drive the state’s development,” he said.
