WhatsApp Users Beware! New Silent Scam Exposed
Hackers Taking Over Accounts Through “Ghost Pairing” Without Any Notification

New Delhi / Bengaluru, December 22

Cybersecurity experts have warned WhatsApp users about a dangerous new online scam known as the “Ghost Pairing Scam”. Through this method, hackers are silently taking control of users’ WhatsApp accounts.

According to experts, if any user receives a message like this on WhatsApp:
“Hey, I just found your photo”
followed by a link — never click on that link, no matter whose number it comes from.

The link in this message takes the user to a fake WhatsApp page, where hackers trick the user into pairing their account with the hacker’s device. The most dangerous part is that this entire process happens without any OTP, without SIM swapping, and without any alert or notification to the user.

⚠️ Once the account is paired, hackers can:
– Read all personal chats
– Access photos, videos, and contacts
– Send messages to others pretending to be the original user
– Lock the real user out of their own account

🛡️ Essential precautions to stay safe:
– Never click on unknown or suspicious links
– Never enter your WhatsApp QR code or pairing code on any external website
– Regularly check Settings → Linked Devices in WhatsApp to see which devices are connected
– Always keep Two-Step Verification enabled
– Report any suspicious messages to others

Cybersecurity experts say that a single careless click can put your entire WhatsApp account at risk. Stay alert and help spread awareness about this new scam to protect others.
