Jeddah: The crescent moon marking the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, according to reports shared on social media. As a result, Muslims in the Kingdom will begin observing the fasting (Roza) for Ramadan starting Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The announcement was shared via a post on social platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that the crescent moon for Ramadan 1447 AH has been sighted, and therefore the first day of Ramadan will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community, and it continues for either 29 or 30 days, concluding with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
