Belagavi: In a sensational midnight robbery, three unidentified miscreants targeted an India Bank ATM located along National Highway–48 at Hosa Vantamuri village in Belagavi taluk, making away with the entire ATM machine.
According to police sources, the accused first disabled the alarm sensors inside the ATM to avoid triggering alerts. They then pulled the ATM machine out, loaded it onto a pushcart, and pushed it nearly 200 metres from the site. The machine was later placed into a vehicle, and the offenders fled the scene.
CCTV footage from the area has captured the miscreants bringing the pushcart to the ATM and executing the theft. Sources said the ATM contained more than ₹1 lakh in cash at the time of the incident.
Officials from the Kakati police station rushed to the spot and carried out an initial inspection. A case has been registered, and further investigation is currently underway.
