College Student Stabbed Over Window Seat Dispute at Belagavi Bus Stand; Rising Knife Attacks Raise Alarm

 

Belagavi: Knife-related crimes have surged alarmingly in Belagavi city, with even trivial disputes escalating into violent stabbings. In the latest incident, a college student was brutally attacked over a window seat altercation at the city’s central bus station.

Unidentified youths stabbed 20-year-old M Sanadi, a resident of Pant Balekundri village, in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim, severely injured, was rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

The attack occurred when an argument broke out between Sanadi and another group of youths over seating arrangements near the bus window. The altercation turned violent, culminating in the stabbing. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Belagavi Market Police Station.

Authorities note a disturbing trend of reckless knife attacks in the city, often triggered by minor disagreements. Investigations are underway to apprehend the assailants.
