CM Siddaramaiah Takes Serious Note of LPG Cylinder Shortage, Urges Centre for Alternative Gas Supply
Bengaluru, March 15 :
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken serious note of the shortage of LPG cylinders in the state and urged the Central Government to take immediate steps, including arranging alternative gas supplies from abroad to resolve the issue.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Sunday, the Chief Minister responded to questions regarding disruptions in LPG supply. He stated that the state government has already clarified the matter in the State Assembly.
Siddaramaiah said a large number of people across the country depend on hotels and restaurants for food, and if their operations are affected due to a shortage of LPG, it could disrupt public life.
He further informed that Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has assured that necessary steps will be taken to ensure there is no disruption in LPG supply.
Responding to criticism from state BJP leaders who have termed the LPG shortage in Karnataka a major issue, the Chief Minister said BJP leaders should go beyond criticism and ensure increased LPG supply through their government at the Centre.
