Silent Response on Chief Minister Post: Rejects Reports of Factionalism in Party
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has strongly and sadly dismissed the rumours and speculations surrounding the Chief Minister’s post, saying that any talk of groupism or factionalism in the party is completely baseless. He said, “Creating groups is not in my nature. For me, all 140 MLAs are mine.”
He stated that the Chief Minister has decided on a cabinet reshuffle, and it is natural for every MLA to aspire for a ministerial position. Party workers and legislators go to Delhi to meet the high command to express their capability and commitment, and this is their democratic right.
Clarifying further, Shivakumar said, “Neither I nor the Chief Minister has called anyone. Some MLAs have met Kharge sahib and the Chief Minister on their own initiative. This is entirely their own decision. There is nothing wrong in them making their presence felt and showing readiness to take on service responsibilities.”
This is a remarkable display of pure-heartedness that strengthens party unity and the spirit of service, while reflecting transparency and honesty in the political arena. At a time when politics often turns into a field of divisions and conspiracies, Shivakumar’s stance sends a compassionate message to the party that he considers everyone equal and there is space for all.
