Madgal Resonates with Chants of “Tipu Zindabad”
Kashappanavar’s Explosive Speech: “Insult to the Pride of History Will Not Be Tolerated”

Vijay Anand Kashappanavar, a prominent Lingayat leader of the state and Chairman of the Karnataka Veerashaiva-Lingayat Development Corporation, as well as MLA, delivered a fiery speech at the “Shaheed Hazrat Tipu Sultan Jayanti” program organized by the Muslim community in Madgal town of Lingsugur taluk.
Speaking in an aggressive tone, Kashappanavar warned clearly: “If anyone again makes false statements against Hazrat Tipu Sultan, they will be given a strong response.”
He further stated that in the upcoming Belagavi Session, he would once again strongly demand that Hazrat Tipu Sultan Jayanti be celebrated on a grand scale at the state level.
Kashappanavar added, “In Karnataka, some political leaders try to create drama by waving swords and wearing caps. We want to tell them that Hazrat Tipu Sultan is the pride of our history. Anyone who speaks against him will receive a logical and fitting reply from us.”
Highlighting Tipu Sultan’s legacy, he said that Tipu was the only ruler who achieved martyrdom on the battlefield, and his military strategy, technology, and bravery are admired across the world.
He also stated, “Tipu Sultan is the pride of Karnataka. Even if someone insults him, it makes no difference to us — we will continue to remember him with respect every year, and next year Tipu Jayanti will be celebrated on a large scale in every city.”
Upon Kashappanavar’s arrival in Madgal, youth welcomed him with showers of flowers, fireworks, and enthusiastic slogans. A large number of young people were present at the program, as chants of “Tipu Sultan Zindabad” and “Vijay Anand Kashappanavar Zindabad” echoed through the event.
Following Kashappanavar’s bold remarks on Hazrat Tipu Sultan, he is now being invited from various districts of the state to attend Tipu Sultan Jayanti programs.
