Siddaramaiah–Shivakumar Joint Press Conference: Reaffirm Unity, Vow to Move Forward as Directed by High Command

Bengaluru, 29 November (Haqeeqat Times)

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made it clear that both he and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will work strictly according to the directions of the party’s central leadership. He said there is no rebellion or dissatisfaction among ministers or MLAs, and that misunderstandings created by sections of the media are the real cause of confusion.

Addressing a joint press conference at his residence today alongside Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah said, “We have decided to move forward as per the guidance of senior party leaders. The Assembly session is approaching, and we have been given the responsibility to clear all misunderstandings. There is no dispute now, and there will be none in the future.”
He further stated that the party high command will be formally informed about the agreement reached between the two leaders.

The Chief Minister alleged that some media outlets are exaggerating and spreading unnecessary rumours of discord.

Siddaramaiah clarified that a few MLAs may have gone to Delhi regarding possible cabinet changes, but there is no need to draw wrong conclusions from it. He added that this morning’s breakfast meeting included himself, Deputy CM Shivakumar and the CM’s legal advisor Ponnanna.

Explaining further, he said, “It was only a mutual meeting; no political discussions took place. Senior party leader Venugopal ji had asked Ponnanna to invite the Deputy CM for breakfast.”
Shivakumar had also invited him for a meal at his residence, but eventually both leaders met at the Chief Minister’s home for breakfast.

The Chief Minister said that unnecessary rumours had spread in recent days, which is why the two leaders held a detailed discussion. He added, “Our aim is to bring Congress back to power in 2028. The municipal, corporation, taluk and zilla panchayat elections are also crucial. We have agreed to prepare a joint strategy for the future.”

He reaffirmed that just as they worked together during the 2023 Assembly elections, they will continue to work unitedly in the future as well. “There is no rift between us—neither now nor ever,” Siddaramaiah asserted.

He also said that the upcoming winter session will begin in Belagavi from December 8, where he and the Deputy Chief Minister will jointly take on the BJP and JD(S). Rejecting the opposition’s allegations, he said BJP and JD(S) are trying to create confusion through false claims, rumours and baseless accusations, which the government will counter strongly.

Siddaramaiah labelled the reports of internal conflict within the government as media fabrication.
He remarked, “BJP and JD(S) say they will move a no-confidence motion. This is laughable. We have 142 members, while they together have only 82. Their attempt is already a failure.”

The Chief Minister assured that the government is stable, united, and fully prepared to respond forcefully to the opposition’s baseless allegations.
